Faster Than A Bullet Train: The 10 Fastest Shots, Ever Fired In Football History.

Goals are the main aim of any match and without goals, no matter how you play beautifully, you will never win the match, talk less of winning a trophy.

But looking at goals, a lot of beautiful goals have been scored take Zidane's volley against Leverkusen for example or Ronaldo's overhead kick against Juventus or even his long range effort against Porto, while he was still in Man United. These are all wonderful goals, but in terms of speed they pale in comparison to some very wonderful goals.

Here is a list of the 10 Fastest Goals ever scored in the game.

10. Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Who else to take the number 10 spot but the big Swede. At 150 km/hr, his goal for PSG against Anderletcht in the Champions League is one goal that PSG fans should never forget. Trust me the keeper had no chance against that shot.

9. Tony Yeboah.

This time an African. Surely we Africans are strong and powerful on and off the ball and Tony Yeboah gave Wimbledon a taste of that power when he unleashed a 154 km/hr, shot into the back of the net. That was the 1995/1996 season, and he was then playing for Leeds United.

8. Ritchie Humphreys:

A less known player than most in this list, but truly few people could have scored such a wonderful goal as he scored for Sheffield Wednesday against Aston Villa in 1996. That goal was measured at 154 km/hr.

7. David Trezequet.

This guy is no mere player. He previously held the record for most consecutive goals scored for Juventus at nine goals before Ronaldo broke and extended his recorded. At a younger age his AS Monaco go against Manchester United flew in at 154 km/hr, and oooh! what a goal it was.

6. David Beckham:

Have you ever head of "bend it like Beckham"? Well that was due to his dreamlike ability over setpieces. But this guy guy was not just good at setpieces. He has shot power and unleashed some pretty amazing long range efforts in his career. One of them was his incredible 158 km/hr effort against Chelsea in the 1996/1997 season in a Red Devil's shirt.

5. David Hirst:

This Englishman definitely knew how to shoot shot and although his shot did not make it into the net, it rattled the crossbar and trust me the keeper was happy he didn't have to save that, he may have ended up in the hospital with a couple of broken fingers. While playing for Sheffield Wednesday in the 1995/1996 season, he unleashed a shot at 183 km/hr, who would have stopped that.

4. Ronald Koeman:

A real legend. I mean this guy was a centre-back, and scored more goals that strikers could and with 239 goals he is the highest scoring defender to ever play the game. His 1992 Champions Cup Final effort against Sampdoria moved at a blistering speed of 188 km/hr into the net. Man no goaler would like to touch that.

3. Steven Reid:

He is part of Scotland's coaching staff now, but in his playing days at Blackburn Rovers he sent an incredible shot at 189 km/hr into the back of the net against Wigan Athletic, and O! fans couldn't just have enough of that goal.

2. Arjen Robben:

The master of R2. I mean this guy knew how to send incredible curlers into the top corners of the net, but he was also one for great shots. In a friendly game against Borussia Dortmund, he sent a screaming incredible shot at 190 km/hr into the back of the net. That goal surely stands among his best.

1. Ronny Heberson:

I know you most likely don't know this giy, buy I not for anything you should know about his goal. At 210 km/hr, his goal against Associacao Naval de Maio for Sporting Lisbon is the fastest shot to have ever being recorded in a game.
