Top 5 Amala Joints in Ibadan; Even Davido and Other Celebrities have visited some PHOTOS]
Ibadan is known for it’s delicious Amala and Abula. For those of you that don’t know Abula; it’s a mixture of Ewedu and Gbegiri.If you still don’t know what I’m talking about, then you have no business reading this article.
Beautiful black Amala is one of Ibadan’s biggest exports and no one dares visit this city without trying out Amala in any of the Bukas in town. Due to the agreed fact that Ibadan people make the best Amala in the world, some people even establish Amala businesses outside Ibadan and find a way to infuse “Oyo or Ibadan” in the brand name; a notable example is Iya Oyo in Abuja.
So, are you visiting Ibadan soon? And you need to eat Amala. Check out any of these 5 places;
1. Alhaja Iya Meta
This establishment can be found in Bodija market. The Amala is great and affordable.
2. Iya Adija
This eatery is at iyana Adeoye in Ibadan. The Amala is fantastic and the Abula or any other soup you prefer is amazing.
3. Amala Skye (Ose Oloun)
This one right here is my personal favourite. Man!!! With N1500; you’d get better Amala and Abula with all sorts of meat. Anytime I’m eating in this place, I remember several celebrities have also been there just like me.
That alone helps them with their publicity.
It’s in Bodija beside Skye Bank which is now Polaris Bank, hence the name Amala Skye. They were even at the GTB Food event last year. They are that good.
4. Turaya
This establishment is at Yemetu. The location is quite nice and easy to access. The only issue sometimes is getting a space to park, but then, that’s peculiar to all Amala joints in Ibadan.
5. Inastrait
This can be found at the Cultural Centre in Mokola. Just like every other Amala joints in Ibadan, Inastrait is also quite affordable. The cost of eating won’t put a hole in one's pocket.
