5 Visa interview questions you should know
5 Visa interview questions you should know
1. Have you travelled before?
When you are in the embassy for your visa interview, the Visa Officer wants to know if you've travelled outside Nigeria before, how many countries you've been to, how long you stayed and other details. This is generally known as travel history, it's more like an imaginary credit score. The more countries you've visited, the better your chances of getting your visa approved, however, being a first time traveller doesn't reduce your chance of getting your Visa approved too.
2. Where in...are you traveling to?
Your visa officer will ask you where in the country are you traveling too? Interestingly, a lot of people do not know this answer during their interview or they just freeze out of fear. You have to make sure you know where your flight will land and the city or cities you'll be visiting while in the country.
3. Why do you want to visit?
Why are you visiting, what's your purpose of visiting. Are you going for a vacation, business trip, conference, tourism, or to study? This would be asked by your Visa Officer, be sure what your answer is what you filled in your application form.
4. How long will you stay?
How long will you be in the said country for? Are you staying for 4 days? A week? 2 weeks? Or a month?
If your visa says you'll be there for 2 weeks and you stay for a month, it might cause you problems in the future.
5. Will you come back to Nigeria?
Now, Nigerians have a reputation of running away when they visit other countries. Your Visa Officer wants to know if you have valid reasons to return to Nigeria, these reasons could be your family, Business, job or education. It has to be very concrete.
