Avoid These 10 Habits After Food If You Want To Live Healthy

Food is good for the body. But it can also affect the body negatively if care is not taken. 

Many of us do not know that doing some things after meal might have very negative effects on their health. 

Here are 10 things you must avoid doing after your food:

1Don't sleep after food: We all know sleeping is good for the body. However, going to bed immediately after a meal can lead to bloating, indigestion, discomfort, acid reflux, discomfort and abnormal sleeping pattern. That is why your dinner must come hours before bed time. Even when not sleeping, lying down or bending after food is bad. 

2. Don't shower after food: This is very common for all of us. Showering immediately after a meal will lead to blood flow to every other part of the body, except the stomach. This can cause indigestion and digestive problems. It is advised you wait for about 30 minutes before going into the bathroom for a shower. 

3. Drinking cold water: Don't drink cold water immediately after food. Cold water hinders the digestion of food. It causes bunching of food. This may increase the chances of constipation. In fact, it solidifies the oil in your food and may not allow you to breath well. 

4.Don't eat fruits after meal: Fruits are good for the body, but not immediately after food. This is because fruits need special enzymes and time to digest. Eating fruits after a meal can trigger indigestion, flatulence or heartburn. 

5. Drinking tea or coffee after food: Without mincing words, drinking tea and coffee has its benefits. But, nutritionists have advised it is better to consume tea or coffee, at least one hour after food, not immediately when you finished eating. 

6. Don't smoke after food: Smoking is not good at all. For smokers, learn that smoking one cigarette after food is like smoking 10 sticks of cigarettes. This can lead to bowl or lung cancer. Please wait for hours before smoking again. 

7. Brushing of teeth: Most people brush their teeth after food to remove food particles. It is good. However, it should not be done instantly after meal. Experts say one should wait for at least 30 minutes after eating. 

8. Walking after food: Walking is the best form of exercise. However, one is not expected to walk immediately after meal; doing so may result in acid reflux and indigestion. 

9. Gym and exercise: The body needs exercise to be in good shape and be fit and healthy. Nevertheless, this is not something to engage in after meal. This is because the stomach needs to rest after food. Aside that, you yourself will not be comfortable jumping up and down immediately after food. Rest after food. 

10. Loosening your belt or button: When you begin to loosen your belt or waistband button after food, it means you have eaten too much. Watch it, because overfeeding leads to overweight and you may become obese.
