See the 25 Apps that were recently deleted from playstore for stealing people's Facebook details, Delete them if you still have them installed on your phone.

The Play store which is owned by Google, houses millions of mobile apps which add more values and usefulness to our mobile phones. Despite the fact that Google has been working tirelessly to ensure that no harmful application would be published on its app market (Play store), some of these malicious apps somehow slip through.

Fortunately, Google is not the just the only firm that is working hard to expose malicious applications created by dubious app developers. Another cyber security firm known as Evina is also on the lookout for harmful apps, they are continuously testing different applications to see if they contain any malware.

Recently, Evina released a list containing about 25 mobile applications that were found to be stealing the Facebook login details of their users. These apps were immediately taken down and deleted from Google play store, however, if you still have any of these apps on your phone, it's time to get rid of them.

This list comprises apps with entirely different functionality, ranging from "file managers" to "flashlight apps" to "card gamers" and even "step counters". All these apps put together have gathered more than 2.1 million downloads and all of them were programmed with identical malicious code.

These malicious apps work by waiting for its users to open a Facebook application or browser on their phone, then it will swiftly create a new page; a fake Facebook sign-in page.

Unsuspecting users would now type in their login details, these details would be copied by the malware and sent to it's intended server that belongs to the dubious programmers who engineered it.

A smart mobile phone guru might detect the trick and avoid it, but our elderly ones and little ones who probably started using smart phones recently might not notice this, and they'll end up getting their accounts hacked.

This is the reason why it's very important to ensure that the mobile apps you're downloading are from a reliable source.
