Delicious Yam Porridge:How to prepare it.


Yam porridge is one of the deliciously nutritious foods ever.It is a rich source of carbohydrates,proteins,oil and much more nutrients as it is a balanced diet.

Ingredients for preparation:

•Yam-preferably white yam.

•Red oil

•Crayfish

•Pepper

Seasoning-Ginger,garlic,seasoning cubes,salt.

•Onions

•Dry fish.

•Green vegetables

Before you cook Yam Porridge:

Peel and cut the yam tuber into medium sizes. Wash the yam cubes and place in a sizeable pot.

Wash and cut the onions into tiny pieces. Grind or blend the chilli pepper. Set these aside.Pluck the green vegetables,wash properly and slice.Keep aside.Peel and pound the ginger and garkic and keep aside.

If using dry fish, soak and pick the bones.

Method of preparation:

•Step 1-Pour enough water to cover the yam cubes and start cooking at medium to high heat. If you are using dry fish,add it now.

Step 2:When the yams have got a good boil and are soft, add the onions, ground crayfish, pepper, stock cubes, palm oil and the smoked fish.

Step 3-Add the pounded spices and salt to taste.Leave to boil for some minutes.

Step 4-Then add the green vegetables and leave to cook for two minutes. Turn off the heat..

The yam porridge is ready to be served.
