6 Ways To Eliminate Odour From Your Private Area

"The vagina is self-cleaning and has its own helpful bacteria and yeast," states Dr. Prince, a gynaecologist. A woman's health status, nutrition and other factors can affect the natural fragrance of her private organ. There are products out there offering to improve vulva odor, but this is not medically necessary or safe. In most cases these products can lead to infections that could cause an even more unpleasant odor.

Ways of eliminating vulva odour include:

Practicing good hygieneW

Wash the exterior between your legs using a soft washcloth and a gentle soap. This will wash away dead skin cells, dirt, and sweat. Do not wash vigorously. Do not apply soap inside the labia because it is very sensitive. The soap would irritate and cause burning sensation in that region.

Just running water over your private area is sufficient to keep your labia clean. Avoid scented soaps and body washes. The scents or chemicals from these products can upset your vulva's natural pH. Utilize bar soaps more; they are more gentle than body washes. Though using warm water is best.

Use only exterior deodorizing products

If you must utilize any perfumes or sprays ensure to use them outside of your labia. Do not apply directly near your private part. Avoid using a douche (even after intercourse). Do not apply any of these products inside. These products can upset your natural flora; and result to serious problems.

Change your underwear

It is better to use 100% cotton underwear than silk, polyester and satin panties. A cotton underwear is breathable. It performs an excellent job ridding away fluids and sweat from your body. Because excess moisture would unbalance your natural flora levels and produce infections.

Thongs and lace are not your best under garment choices. Avoid wearing tight girdles, underwear, and pantyhose.

Do not douche

Douching is the process of flushing or washing the vulva with water or solutions. Doctors strongly recommend against douching. According to WebMD, " It can result in vulva infections. If you already have an infection, douching will even push the bacteria further into the uterus, fallopian tubes, or ovaries." And this can lead to more complicated issues.

Essential oil creams

Some essential oils have antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal properties which aid in reducing and eliminating bacteria. Never apply essential oils directly to your skin. Always dilute them first in a carrier oil before use. Only use over- the- counter (OTC) creams which have essential oils in them, that are recommended for use at the private area. Otherwise do not apply undiluted essential oils near your private area.

Soak in vinegar

Avoid taking hot baths/ showers because they can upset your natural pH. Rather soak yourself in a warm bath and pour 1 or 2 cups of apple cider vinegar. Soak yourself for 20 minutes. Vinegar naturally cleanses the body of bacteria.
